The duo behind some of downtown Kelowna’s most popular restaurants have announced a brand new, soon-to-open project.

Chef Rod Butters and Audrey Surrao are opening The Okanagan Table – Kitchen, events, and catering.

In the summer of 2017, Chef Butters released his first cookbook, The Okanagan Table: The Art of Everyday Home Cooking.

Butters and Surrao are behind dining venues in Kelowna such as micro bar & suites, Sunny’s Modern Diner, and RauDZ Regional Table. They are also behind the Italian inspired Terrafina at Hester Creek in Oliver.

According to the team, The Okanagan Table will give guests “almost endless opportunities to enjoy food and its preparation” through long table dinners, receptions, cooking and cocktail demonstrations, and special event catering.

The new space is located at 1571 Pandosy Street, near Mosaic Book and Olive & Elle. According to their website, they'll be opening in a few short weeks.

Joining The Okanagan Table team is Chef Geoffrey Couper as their Culinary Education Director.

Couper has called Kelowna home for over 15 years, and has provided his culinary expertise to places like Mission Hill Estate Winery, CedarCreek Estate Winery, Blue Mountain Winery, and Andrew Peller Ltd. He has also worked with Hilton International, Relais & Chateaux and Canadian Mountain Holidays.

Couper’s long list of accomplishments include winning the international title at Chaine des Rotisseurs in Germany, and being inducted into the Canadian Culinary Honor Society in 2016.

In his role as the education director, Couper will be coordinating all of the educational demonstrations for the home cook, customizing sessions for professionals to further advance their skills, and will be developing a curriculum for the in-house culinary teams.
